Getting started
What is Boxster?
An online store for mystery boxes. Every box shows every item it can contain, the odds of each, and the item values, before you open it. You always receive at least the value you paid.
Is this gambling?
No. In gambling you can lose your stake. On Boxster you cannot: if your item is worth less than the box price we top you up in Points at the same moment, so what you receive is always worth at least what you paid. Outcomes are also published and verifiable.
Who can use it?
Adults (18+, or 19 in Alabama and Nebraska) physically located in an eligible U.S. state. See Eligibility.
Why can't I access the site from my state?
We have chosen not to operate in a small number of states while the law there is unclear. We cannot make exceptions, and VPNs are not allowed.
Money
What are Credits?
The balance you use to open boxes; $1 buys 1 Credit. Credits are not refundable and have no cash value.
Can I cash out?
No. Credits and Points cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for money. You can have your items shipped to you, sell them back for Credits, or exchange them for other items.
What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express and Apple Pay. On the current test site, use card number 4242 4242 4242 4242 and nothing is charged.
Is my card safe?
Card details go straight to our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.
Boxes
How are the odds decided?
Each box has a published drop table. The chances always total 100%, and a provably fair system picks your item from that table before the animation plays. See Odds & Values.
What do Calm, Balanced, Bold and Wild mean?
How much a box's results vary. Calm boxes mostly pay close to their price; Wild boxes are mostly small items with a rare big one. The rating comes from the published odds and does not change them.
What is the value guarantee?
If your item is worth less than the box price, the difference is added as Points (1 Point = $0.01) immediately. See Odds & Values.
What's the Free demo button?
A practice spin with the same odds that costs nothing and awards nothing. Use it to see how a box behaves before you buy.
Can I open more than one box at once?
Yes, up to five of the same box in one go from the box page.
Items
What can I do with an item I've won?
Keep it in your inventory, ship it to you, sell it back for Credits at its listed value, or exchange it for another item we stock.
How does exchange work?
Pick the items you want to give up, choose any item worth up to their combined value, and any difference comes back as Credits. You never lose value.
How long does shipping take?
Physical orders dispatch within 3–5 business days of your request and arrive in 3–7 business days after that. Shipping is free. Digital items are emailed within one business day. See Shipping & Returns.
Why do I have to verify my identity before shipping?
To confirm you are an adult in an eligible state and to prevent fraud. It is a one-time step with our verification partner.
What if my item arrives damaged?
Tell us within 14 days and we'll replace it or credit its value.
Battles
How do battles work?
Two to four players open the same boxes. The winner takes every item; everyone else is topped up in Points so nobody ends with less than their entry. Modes: Classic (highest total wins), Terminal (last round decides) and Jackpot (winner drawn in proportion to value).
Can I battle against bots?
Yes. Call bots to fill empty seats. Bots never receive items.
Rewards
What are Points and EXP?
Points are a loyalty credit (1 Point = $0.01) you can spend in the Point Store. EXP tracks your activity and unlocks levels and free daily boxes. Neither can be cashed out.
How do free daily boxes work?
Every verified member can open a free box once every 24 hours. Higher loyalty levels unlock better daily boxes.
How do referrals work?
Share your link. You earn Points when a friend registers, when they first purchase $25 or more, and for every $100 they purchase.
Account and safety
I need a break.
Use self-exclusion in your profile to lock your account for 24 hours to 6 months. See Responsible play.
How do I delete my account or my data?
Email privacy@boxster.io. Deliver or sell back your items first.
